So, in the weeks since losing my job, I enrolled in an allied health program at a local college. It’s very challenging, since it’s something completely new, but I have faith that I will do well.
I’ve had many phone and in-person interviews over the past few weeks, and on Tuesday I was offered a job! It’s also the highest-paying job I applied to, so I’m very excited that I’m NOT taking a pay cut. I don’t start for another week and a half, so I’ll be living off of the unemployment benefits right up until that first paycheck. Eep. The job I was offered is in a field directly related to allied health, so it’s really perfect.
On top of all of this, I move into my new place in four weeks. I’m excited and scared, because this will be my first time ever at living completely alone. Still, I know my boyfriend will come over and keep me company from time to time, and I have plans to get a cat for companionship. I’ve missed having pets, so this will be great.
I just went for a drive to clear my head. Drove all the way to Bee Cave, and decided to get dinner here. Today was eventful. Got a call for an interview tomorrow, and went and enrolled at NAU. Enough good spots in my day to keep me optimistic. Here’s to hope.
I still can’t believe it. I thought I was doing well. The one job I actually liked, and made decent money at…and I lost it without any warning. I guess that’s what I get for being naïve enough to rely on a temp job.
